Presently we implement a formal affirmative action policy. Broadly speaking, our present policy is to eliminate any colour bar, gender and disability discrimination from our work place and to give preference to job applicants emanating from previously disadvantaged communities. We devote considerable time and effort to in-house training of relevant personnel.
We have attracted candidates to our area and managed to retain them. The Eastern Cape is an area badly affected by the legacy of apartheid and unemployment is relatively high. When we find candidates, they are often “lured away” by advanced provinces such as the Western Cape, who offer benefits like pension, medical aid, etc.
Nevertheless, we are committed to development within our province. Our specialized legal services have given us a competitive edge over other local firms and we have a long term investment view of our area.
We aim to develop legal expertise to serve our Municipalities, government departments, local businesses and the general public. As a youth led law firm we attract young legal practitioners and we are mindful of gender, race and other socio-political hindrances to the profession.
